“Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people), making the very most of the time [buying up each opportunity], because the days are evil. Therefore do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish, but understanding and firmly grasping what the will of the Lord is.” –Ephesians 5:15-17

The most valuable asset in your life is time. Time is more valuable than diamonds, gold, rubies or anything on earth, for it is the one thing you can never get back. If someone robs you of your money, you can get more of it but if someone robs you of your time, it’s forever gone. One of the most important questions you should ask yourself over and over is, “do I invest my time or do I just spend it?” Spending time alone yields no harvest (or return). Time invested brings a harvest of fruit and increase.

The Word instructs you to live purposely and to make the very most of the time you have. That means you are to buy up every opportunity you can because wisdom teaches us that opportunities are limited by time. Every opportunity has an expiration date. Therefore it is critical that we seek wisdom from above to live life accurately and wisely. Time with God must be your number one priority so that the Holy Spirit can order your steps. Steps ordered by God will always be time invested well.

Too often many people complain that they aren’t growing or it is taking too long to reach their goals but a careful examination of their time would likely reveal that they spend majority of their time than they invest it. It is only invested time that yields fruit, not time spent (or time wasted). C.S. Lewis wrote, “The future is something which everyone reaches at the rate of 60 minutes an hour, whatever he does, whoever he is.” Time is no respecter of persons. It has no favorites. Each man is given the same number of seconds, minutes and hours in a day—the only difference is the time invested.

Today make it a KEY to start investing your time. Use your time wisely in such a way that your time will bring you a profit in the future and help you create the life you want.
